Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Friday slapped one year restriction from global cricket on three public cricketers — Danushka Gunathilaka, Kusal Mendis and Niroshan Dickwella — who were seen as blameworthy of disregarding the Covid-19 security rules during the group's visit to England last month.

The three top request batsmen were likewise hit with a six-month restriction from homegrown cricket. What's more, the SLC forced a fine of 10 million Sri Lanka rupees (around $5,000) on every one of the players.

Bad habit chief Mendis, wicketkeeper-batsman Dickwella and opening batsman Gunathilaka were found to break the bio-bubble during the England visit last month. The threesome was seen meandering in the city of Durham after the last T20 worldwide on June 26, a video of which had turned into a web sensation.
